Let’s Strengthen Student Mental Health and Well-Being Together
Dear students,
We chose to send this message together — from the Office of the President and the Student Government Association — because conversations about student mental health and well-being belong to all of us. Student leadership and ÎÚÑ»ÊÓƵ leadership share a commitment to listen, learn and act together, especially when it comes to ensuring students thrive in a supportive environment.
In late January, many students joined faculty and staff for a town hall focused on mental health. What stood out was not just the conversation itself, but the openness and trust students brought to the space. That honesty mattered — it showed how sharing experiences can help others feel seen, strengthen our sense of community and inform the decisions we make to better support students.
That shared understanding is why we are reaching out today.
Building on those conversations, the ÎÚÑ»ÊÓƵ’s Mental Health Task Force — which includes student representatives alongside faculty, staff and administrators — is working to identify meaningful ways to strengthen mental health support across campus. To support this work, UL Lafayette to better understand student experiences and strengthen mental health programs, crisis response and support.
The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, responses are anonymous, and students who are 18 or older are eligible to participate. You may skip any question or stop participating at any time.
If you have already taken the survey, thank you. If you haven’t, we invite you to share your perspective by Feb. 28.
You can also access the survey through Mental Health Resources at a Glance, a dedicated website that serves as a one-stop hub for mental health resources and support available to UL Lafayette students. We encourage you to explore the site — it brings together Counseling & Testing services, crisis support, virtual care options and helpful guidance for supporting yourself or a friend, all in one place.
Thank you for continuing this conversation with us — and for helping ensure that student mental health and well-being remain a shared priority at UL Lafayette.
Geaux Cajuns!
