Biography
Michael Crotty is Assistant Professor of Dance at the ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ at Lafayette School of Music and Performing Arts. Michael received his BFA in Dance from the Ohio State ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ, Diploma from CODARTS Conservatory in the Netherlands, and an MFA in Dance from the ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ of Utah. His theater-dances have been commissioned and produced for The Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Columbia College, The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, California State ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ, The ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ of Tampa, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Michael has performed and collaborated with the Montreal Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, American Apparel, the National Children’s Choir, and Jerome Meyer. Additionally, he was a member of the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company. He has taught classes at The ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ of Dayton, The ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ of Southern California, Point Park ÎÚÑ»ÊÓÆµ, and Columbia College. As a producer, Michael has self-produced multiple dance-theater works and performing arts events. Michael is also a Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst © and ABT certified ballet instructor.
